Stay Secure with COLORBOND® Steel Clad Doors
COLORBOND Clad Door in Action
The Pale Eucalypt palette used for a building entry pair door.Door may be clad with a selection of metal facings which each offer varying visual finishes and material qualities. At Spence Doors, the metal clad door range includes Zincanneal, Galvanised Steel, Stainless Steel, and COLORBOND® steel. Here is some insight into the unique advantages COLORBOND® offer as a cladding option.
Versatile Visuals
A primary benefit of COLORBOND® cladding relative to other metal cladding materials is the visual versatility. Oftentimes, security considerations or facility needs will necessitate a metal clad door but you don’t want the industrial look of a metal clad door. With a whole host of colours from which to choose, doorsets are made capable of meeting an architect’s design vision irrespective of palette. As all Spence doors are made custom, the colour selection is completely up to architectural specifications to which we will accommodate in manufacture.
* Signifies this colour is part of the standard COLORBOND® range most commonly specified. Longer lead times will apply for other colours.
No Painting or Coating Needed
COLORBOND is a pre-finished product in need of no further prep by installers. Its coloured finished means a coat of paint is not needed, and its composition means a coat / primer is not needed either. The result is an easy process where COLORBOND doors are ready-to-go the moment they arrive on site. In addition to saving on labour costs, maintenance is kept to a minimum as typical risk of cracking paint or coating is eliminated.
Secure
As with any variant of Metal Clad Door, COLORBOND® steel gives a door leaf an additional layer of protection relative to a standard timber door. The material strength mitigates risk of a door’s lock or other susceptible hardware being tampered with. This is of particular importance in commercial & industrial spaces where the doorway is an access point to sensitive and/or private areas.
Sustainably Built Doorsets
Build with confidence knowing the doorsets on your project are built sustainably and thereby can positively influence a build’s Green Star rating. COLORBOND® is partially composed of recycled materials, making for efficient use of available resources and minimisation of ecological footprint on the Australian environment.
Spence Doors takes pride in environmentally responsible door production and material use. Altogether between the door leaf, and COLORBOND® cladding, the result is an environmentally sound door built for the present and the future.
For Rated & Non-Rated Doors Alike
COLORBOND may be specified onto Spence Doors in all instances where metal cladding is possible. This includes the cladding of Non-Rated / Flush Panel doors, as well as Fire-Rated Doors of up to 2 hours protection, and Acoustic Doors tested and certified with an Rw rating and certificates provided. Irrespective of situational requirement and rating, COLORBOND doors are feasible with custom manufacture in our Victorian and Queensland factories.

Metal cladding comes in a number of options at Spence Doors. COLORBOND is an option for project scenarios where security is a necessity but the industrial look of metal cladding doesn't suit the design brief. It can also contribute to project sustainability ratings as it is partially composed of recycled materials.
