Hospitality & Retail
Spence Doors designs and manufactures solutions for a diverse range of needs in the hospitality sector. For the likes of back-of-house restaurants, cafes and take away amenities where practicality is key, or for design-focused doors that enhance a building's unique style. Similarly, retail spaces prioritise visual finish as their doors are customer-facing and play a role in creating a store's ambience.
Blending durability and practicality is something with which our team has proven experience in hospitality settings. High foot-traffic openings in these spaces are subject to risk of damage and visual degradation at a higher rate than the average door set. We build door sets for these applications to align with this level of risk, subsequently minimising the need to dedicate time and labour towards maintenance down the line. Extending the lifespan of the door set in this way comes at no compromise to the design and functionality need in the short-term.
In particular, our laminated and fully-encapsulated door options have proven popular in food service environments. These doors are finished products as they require no painting once they have been hung, and so involve minimal labour in fitting. They also contribute to the objectives of low-maintenance and long-lasting functionality. For retail spaces, laminates and veneers are both suitable solutions as they give an enormous selection of visual options to accommodate the vision of a project's architect and interior designer.
Office Fit-Outs
Office Fit-Outs
Offices - and more broadly, any working spaces - have two key priorities in the form of visual consideration and long-term endurance. Spence Doors manufacture performance doors specially for these purposes with the likes of Veneer Doors and Laminated Doors hosting a great selection of aesthetic options. Perhaps more importantly however are the functional capacities of these doors as laminates can provide heightened surface protection against impact damage and degradation. These claddings are adhered to the Flush Panel Door range which offers three distinct solid cores to address whichever consideration is the project prioritity between acoustic performance, thermal performance, and structural strength.
Taking acoustic performance a step further, Spence also offer Acoustic-Rated Doors fitted with appropriate seals to mitigate the transfer of sound from one room to another. This is of course very important in office spaces where meeting rooms and board rooms host private discussions, and the overall noise level of the office is ideally quite low. Spence Doors have tested and proven Acoustic Doors rated up to Rw 47 for single doors and up to Rw 42 for pair / double doors. All such acoustic doorsets as supplied along with the corresponding acoustic certificates.
Public Facilities
Public Facilities
Spence Doors often work with government and public services to deliver doors packages for public utility spaces. Through experience in this space, Spence have an adept understanding of government project timelines and priorities, and can manage these projects accordingly.
Public spaces have a high priority on security given their risk of intrusion; this is where our range of Metal Clad Doors becomes very useful. The protection these provide from external environmental conditions and from intruder damage / entry altogether fulfils the needs of most public spaces. We also understand the significance of timely delivery for public projects. Spence Doors have factory facilities both in Victoria and Queensland and so are capable of manufacture at-scale to meet these and accept new projects on short lead times.
Data Centres
Data Centres
Data centres have quickly become a major player in the makeup of major construction projects around the country. These comes with a number of specialised needs when it comes to doorsets as the purpose of data centre facilities by nature demands a crossroads of security needs, fire-rating needs, and acoustic needs.
There is also a significant focus on Australian Standard compliance in this space as the large / oversized openings needed to transport goods in and out can oftentimes be difficult to achieve whilst still meeting tested and proven fire-rating requirements. It is with this in mind that Spence can offer unique solutions by way of having one of the largest sets of compatible tested hardware for fire doors on the Australian market. This permits great flexibility in hardware specification and our ability to accommodate or offer an analogous option. Additionally, our fire doors do not require fire bolts at any size or configuration and so there is no concern of incompliance. Fire bolts present severe safety risks and their use has been condemned by fire authorities around Australia as a result. Related to this, having a fire engineer sign-off on fire door which use fire bolts can prove difficult, something that does not apply to Spence fire doors.
