Ventilation Grille
A slatted grille fitted into a door face to manage airflow between spaces. This is utilised to support a building's HVAC systems, ensuring an appropriate flow is achieved between rooms. This allows for air circulation to maintain temperature control. As an additional benefit, a grille can reduce door closing pressure on enclosed rooms. Grilles are designed for easy installation or Spence can prepare the door leaf and fit grille during manufacturing stage for minimal on-site time and labour. The grille features steel cover plates on either side for a high-grade visual finish.
Customisable
Sizing and door leaf placement is custom to bespoke project requirements.
Fire-Rating
Fire-Rated options are available for a grille to be fitted without compromising the fire-resistant integrity of the door set in specific configurations. This is limited to defined sizes which are tested and certified for pairing with Spence's Fire Door Sets.

Accredited as a fire-rated product suitable for complete fire-rated doorsets.

Fire-Rating
Ventilation Grilles are tested and certified for fitting in certain configurations of Spence's Fire Door Sets in accorance with AS1530.4 2014.

* Grilles to be installed at a minimum of 500mm from the bottom.
Note: Total area covered by air grilles in fire doors must not exceed 0.66m².
- Identify fire door type and check manufacturer’s approvals to ensure that cutting an aperture in the door will not detract from the integrity of the door leaf.
- Establish the number of allowable openings, their maximum size and if there are any positioning limitations.
- Carefully cut the aperture to the required size allowing an additional 5mm clearance to all sides (for application of intumescent sealant).
- Ensure aperture is square and true and position the damper into the cut-out so perimeter gaps between the aperture and damper are even.
- Apply intumescent sealant to both sides, making sure the perimeter gap is completely filled.
- Position pressed steel cover grilles centrally over the damper and fix to the door leaf using supplied screws.
