Solid Core Particleboard Doors

  • Flush Panel

Flush Panel Doors with a solid particleboard core engineered for rigidity and insulation. Particleboard is an engineered wood bonded with resin into a compact core. The core is surrounding by a timber perimeter frame of 35mm stiles and rails. This frame is constructed from KD Hardwood or Finger Jointed Pine.

The Particleboard Advantage

Particleboard hosts a number of beneficial properties including:

  • Acoustic & thermal properties. Particleboard has the highest material density among solid core options which affords it the greatest capacity to resist the passage of sound. Minimal gaps in the solid core is a positive for sound (and thermal) insulation levels. Thanks to this, Spence's Particleboard Doors can achieve up to a Rw 32 rating with appropriate seals.
  • Cost efficiency. Particleboard offers the lowest material cost among solid core options and so is suitable for bulk specification in projects where budget does not have the scope for LVL or Blockboard.
