Bottom Seal

A bottom-of-door seal to cover the gap between the door and the floor. This is a strong preventative measure against the transfer of smoke and of noise passing through a door set.

The protection against smoke transmission between rooms is an important health and safety consideration particularly in commercial environments. It is common for additional smoke protection such as a bottom seal to be fitted where the bottom-of-door gap is greater than 3mm.  The seal also plays an important role in managing acoustics between spaces by disallowing the free passage of sound through the gap.
