Spence manufacture a range of both Solid Core and Hollow Core Flush Panel Doors to meet a wide variety of applications, both internal and external. Balanced in construction, these doors feature two matched plain face panels which entirely conceal the inner structure with continuous bonding between the faces and core.
Openings for glass panels of all shapes and sizes, including porthole, semicircular, triangular and polyonich, can be incorporated in any Spence Flush Panel Door. In addition, preparations for specialised hardware such as relief air grille registers, concealed door closers, acoustic seals, electronic strikers and double action pivoting systems can be made to suit your needs.
Edge cover strips can be fitted to provide protection against buffeting, and may be either butt or mitre joined at the corners. For external applications, these strips are usually fixed to all edges to prevent the core becoming exposed to the elements. We recommend highly exposed doors be faced with metal sheeting.
Spence can produce Flush Panel Doors to any size, thickness, finish and specification that meets your requirements. When you talk to us you have the experience of fifty years of door manufacture at your service.
Spence Flush Panel Doors are manufactured stress free to avoid warping and faced on both sides with matching panels to ensure balanced construction.
A wide selection of facings are available for both internal and external applications. Depending on performance requirements, the thickness of the face sheet can range from 3mm up to 12mm, with thicker faces providing a flatter, more robust door with superior acoustic properties.

Frame
• None required
Door Face Options
INTERNAL
• Paint quality plywood 3mm, 4mm, 6mm
• Veneered plywood 4mm

Spence Solid Core Blockboard Doors are suitable for both internal and external use. They are solid throughout and therefore don't require a perimeter frame. These doors are extremely robust and versatile. They can be resized, openings cut and otherwise modified easily and without impairing their structural strength.
The blockboard core is formed of short lengths of pine, square dressed and edge laminated. It is a stable panel machined to even thickness. Clear pine stiles can be seen at the vertical edges.

SOLID CORE PARTICLEBOARD DOORS

|
 |
Core Material
• Medium Density Particleboard 25mm, 28.5mm or 33mm
Frame
• KD Hardwood or Finger Jointed Pine
Door Face Options
INTERNAL
• Paint quality plywood 3mm, 4mm, 6mm
• Veneered plywood 4mm
• Veneered MDF 4mm to 12mm
• MDF 3mm, 4mm, 4.75mm, 6mm, 7.5mm, 9mm, 12mm
• Redicote hardboard hardboard 3.2mm, 4.8mm
Spence Solid Core Doors are solid throughout and have an internal timber perimeter frame surrounding a medium density particleboard infill. The width of the perimeter frame determines the possible size reduction of these doors and wider timber frame members can be specified for greater flexibility in on-site adjustment. The entire door frame is of uniform thickness, to match the particleboard infill. Openings can be cut for daylights and vents. These doors have good acoustic properties. They are designed for internal use and external application should use HMR particleboard core.
